Botox and Dysport are two types of cosmetic injectables that weaken and relax the muscles near the injection site. Both of these injectables block a chemical known as acetylcholine. Because muscle contraction can cause wrinkles, these neurotoxins relax the muscles, leading to fewer wrinkles.
Dysport is more affordable
Although there are some significant differences between Dysport treatment and Botox, the cost of both treatments is almost the same. The cost of one Dysport unit is about 1/3 of that of one Botox unit. Both neuromodulators are equally efficient and can be used on the same cosmetic concerns.
While the two treatments are very similar in cost, the results of Dysport are faster and last longer. A person will notice visible results in two to three days. A Dysport treatment will require more sessions than Botox.
It diffuses more
Botox, Dysport and Dysport have distinct effects on the skin. Botox lasts longer at the injection site, Dysport spreads quicker and has a shorter duration. This makes Dysport more effective for treating large areas and requires fewer injectables. However, the effectiveness of Botox may not be as great as Dysport.

Botox and Dysport both include biologic processor proteins. These neuromodulators provide protection for the toxin, and help it work efficiently. These proteins will affect how the toxin is injected and how much it diffuses.
It reduces glabella lines
Botox is an effective treatment for reducing frown lines (or glabellar) in the forehead. These lines appear above the eyebrows and are caused by the repeated movement of the brow muscles. This injectable treatment works well to reduce glabellar and prevent the formation new lines. It can smoothen out existing lines.
Botox lasts between three and four months, and the procedure requires no downtime. After treatment, the effects are visible in 2 to 3 days and last up to 4 months. Juvederm can also be used to fill glabellar lines. Juvederm is not able to prevent the formation of glabellar lines, as Botox. The injectable smooths existing wrinkles in less than 10 minutes. The injectable lasts up to four months and is the best treatment for stubborn lines.
It is much more effective
Dysport and Botox are both effective for treating wrinkles, but they have some differences. Botox can be used in smaller areas, such as the forehead. Dysport is more concentrated and spreads across a larger area. The main differences in these two injectables are their dosages and how long they take.
However, side effects can occur due to both products. Dysport is a procedure that can be dangerous for patients. Although bruising and swelling can be expected, patients should not lay down immediately after receiving Dysport. Patients should refrain from exercising for a minimum of four hours after receiving the treatment. Both drugs are not remarkably different in how they work, but they differ structurally and molecularly, and some people might experience side effects from both.

It is safer
Botox as well as Dysport can be effective, but there are risks. Both injectables are safe but it is important that you discuss any potential risks with your doctor before you undergo treatment. These neurotoxins are known to cause complications, including Botulinum toxicity, which occurs when an injection spreads to another part of the body.
The main ingredient in both injections are the same. However, the trace protein levels in the products make one more effective than the others. Both products are undergoing further research to see which one is safer and more effective. Botox is quicker to dry, but both injections can be administered in minutes. After the injection is complete you can leave the doctor's clinic.
